Why Sandersons?

Why Sandersons?

A traditional firm with a progressive approach.

Sanderson & Co. was founded in London in 1956 by Laurence (Laurie) Sanderson.

Following a move to Colchester in the 1960s, the firm has continued to grow, becoming renowned for our ability to provide quality services to clients on a global scale.

Over 50 years of knowledge and innovation

Francis Gillam joined Sanderson & Co in the early 1970s, becoming a partner in 1982, and worked closely with Laurie for the next 30 years. He was instrumental in developing a pioneering computerised IP records system which became Progressor(TM), and took over as Senior Partner in 2002 after the death of Laurie Sanderson. Francis retired from the partnership in November 2012 and now acts as a consultant both to the firm and privately.

2016 saw the firm move to new offices at the University of Essex Knowledge Gateway, and we are now situated at the heart of an expanding technology and innovation park; ideally placed to help businesses grow.

Who we are today

Although we are based in Colchester, and are proud to be a ‘local’ firm, we operate globally and communicate effectively with our clients and agents in all countries of the world. Our offices in London offer a convenient meeting location for clients if required.

Client cases are assigned to a team of professional staff under the overall supervision of one of our highly qualified and experienced Partners, supported by Associates, Technical Assistants and administrative staff as required; our clients benefit from effectively having us as part of their team.

Working with integrity to protect your Intellectual Property

At Sandersons we pride ourselves in developing strong partnerships with our clients, and in being knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of intellectual property. Our highly pro-active service gives us the flexibility to tailor the way we work to meet each client’s individual needs.
