When it comes to being inventive, the newest recruit to Sanderson & Co. clearly has her eye on the future.
Caroline Ward, who is 24 and from Braintree, has just been appointed as a Technical Assistant at the leading firm of Patent and Trademark Attorneys, based in Colchester.
After graduating from the University of Reading with a BEng in Electronic Engineering and Cybernetics in 2005, Caroline is now training to become a UK Chartered Patent Attorney.
She said: “I chose this kind of career because I feel passionate about all things electronic. This role fits in perfectly with my background, which also spans robotics and mechanical inventions.
“It’s great to be part of this exciting team. Sanderson & Co. has already seen some clients such as Progressive Sports Technologies, which invented the Deck – a versatile exercise bench now licensed to Reebok – appear on the BBC’s Dragon’s Den programme, which I’m a big fan of.
“The programme really captured my imagination and interest in protecting products with patents before they come to the market, so it’s a dream come true to be working with the firm and inventors.
“I’m looking forward to the day when some of the Sanderson clients I have worked with produce a product that becomes the next best thing.”
