We are all aware of the importance of good networking and the value of establishing relationships with other people and other organisations. This is good practice both at home and abroad, in particular when, like Sanderson & Co., you deal with a global client base. Part of the networking that we do goes to consolidate our partnership with other law firms around the world and one of the ways in which we do it is through industry events such as INTA.
INTA is a not-for-profit membership association of more than 5,000 trademark owners and professionals, from more than 190 countries, dedicated to the support and advancement of trademarks and related intellectual property. Every year an international conference is held that allows members to share ideas, gain knowledge and forge relationships with colleagues in other jurisdictions.
In May of this year James Sanderson attended the event with a view to expanding our network of global partners. As well as catching up with a number of colleagues that Sanderson & Co currently works with, James was able to strike up some new friendships.
"Sanderson & Co. is seen by some to be a regional, UK firm, however, we deal with a large number of other jurisdictions on a daily basis. Attending INTA allowed me to develop relationships with new colleagues in the US, India, China and more which in turn will allow us to provide a better international service to our clients" said James Sanderson.
Sanderson & Co. has always been a 'global' player and a number of our clients require that we have the ability to act on their behalf in countries around the world. It is this network of global partners that allows us to do that so it is of vital importance to us that we get to know them. It is also of great importance to us that our clients are confident in our ability to operate on this international stage and events such as INTA assist us in keeping abreast of the current knowledge and international legislation.
